The children regularly take part in inter-school competitions such as quick sticks hockey both on and off site.

Experienced coaches from Watford Football Club work with the children on a variety of game skills during PE lessons on a weekly basis.

Bury Lake Young Mariners also give the children in year 5 and 6 the chance to learn to sail at the local aquadrome.

Years 5 and 6 children also have the opportunity to build on their swimming skills at our local leisure centre, William Penn.

Educational Visits

We highly value learning outside the classroom through educational visits as they enhance children’s learning and also their enjoyment of the curriculum. Every term, each class (from year 1-6) go on a trip which relates to a topic which they have been learning about at school.

In the Autumn term, Year 6 have the opportunity to take part in a residential trip. This gives them the chance to participate in a range of activities which they may not otherwise experience. It also helps to develop independence and prepare them for secondary school experiences.

In addition to these exciting opportunities, the children in years 1-6 are invited to attend the Christmas Pantomime at Watersmeet Theatre.

School Productions

Each year our Early Years and Phase 1 children put on Christmas performances, Years 3 & 4 children put on an Easter performance and Years 5 & 6 children present an end of year show. Taking part in productions gives the children the opportunity to develop their dance, drama and musical skills and helps to develop their self-confidence.
